"Sweetie, you're wasting gum." is based on the 1996 classic film "The Birdcage," starring Nathan Lane & Robin Williams. The film centers around a gay cabaret owner & his drag queen companion agree to put up a false straight front so that their son can introduce them to his fiancée's right-wing moralistic parents.
During the film, Nathan Lane's character, Albert, is rehearsing for a drag show & states to his co-star, "Sweetie, you're wasting your gum." This line & exchange is my favorite from the film. it inspired me to create a long-lasting chewing gum inspired by the Movie!
Throughout the design I wanted to be sure I was pulling elements from the Movie, as well as 90's LGBTQ+ club scene, bold, brash, loud, & most importantly fun! Enjoy, and stop wasting your gum!
